Where does the march start and end?
We gather at 6:00 PM at the Bixby Park Bandshell, and the rally begins at 7:00 PM. After the rally, we take to the streets. The march will return to the Bixby Park Bandshell after taking the streets. The march is approximately 1 mile round trip and take about an hour, depending on the pace of the crowd. The exact route will be shared closer to the date.
Is the Dyke March open to allies?
Yes! The Dyke March is a dyke-centered protest, but all queers, allies, and those who support our fight are welcome to march in solidarity.
Who leads the march?
The march is led by the Dykes of Long Beach Motorcycle Contingency, setting the energy for the night.
Can I bring signs, banners, or noise makers?
Absolutely! Bring your own signs, banners, flags, drums, and noisemakers. We encourage messages that align with the theme Rooted in Resistance and the broader fight for justice.
What happens at the rally?
Before stepping off, we hold a rally at the bandshell with speakers from the community—activists, elders, and those on the frontlines of the movement.
What happens after the march?
This is a protest, not a party. But we are fighting for queer joy too. Stay tuned for more details on post- march gatherings!
